2016 Salt Fork River Art & Music Festival Line Up
Kurt Bielema, Singer-Songwriter, Urbana. IL
Kurt is returning to the music world after taking a decade off to start his own business (singlestereo.com), and raise a family. He will be singing/fingerpicking his original indie folk-inspired music.
The Bashful Youngens are an Americana duo out of Champaign IL featuring Carrie Chandler-Harrison and Aaron Short. With a style that blends traditional folk, alternative country, and roots, their love of writing music together is clearly seen and heard in their live performances and studio recordings. Each shines on their own, and together their voices blend in seemingly effortless harmonies. Their genuine, charming style, well-crafted songs, powerful rhythms and harmonies provide a sound that reaches a broad base of fans.
Ben Bedford With his fourth album, The Pilot and the Flying Machine, Ben Bedford takes the listener on a philosophic, poetic, and powerful sonic flight. With his songwriting as erudite as ever and his guitar playing further honed and refined, Bedford enters decidedly new territory in terms of themes, sound, and arrangement with this album. With his tried and true singer songwriter influences, such as Townes Van Zandt and Patty Griffin are here, this album owes as much in inspiration to the piano playing of Vladimir Horowitz and Thelonious Monk, the theatrical songwriting of Kate Bush, and the open sounding jazz and classical recordings of the late 1950s. In 2010 Bedford was named one of the “50 most significant Folk singer-songwriters of the past 50 years” by Rich Warren of WFMT-Chicago. The list also included such stalwarts as Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Anais Mitchell and John Prine.
River Salt is an acoustic duet. Angelia Mendoza and William Nott give you a sound that touches your soul and rocks your senses. Folk/Blues, Country/Rock.
Looks like a good time, huh?
